CHRISTMAS EVE SCHEDULE

Our Christmas Eve Services are as follows: 4:00-4:30 PM Come and Go Communion Service, 6:30 PM Family Oriented Candlelight Communion Service, 11:00 PM Traditional Candlelight Communion Service, every Sunday 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM Worship Services, 9:45 AM Sunday School.

PICTURES NEEDED
We are in the process of printing a new church directory and are in need of pictures of activities in the church over the last few years. If you have pictures, could you please loan them to Pastor Homer? If you have digital pictures, please email them to Pastor Homer at pastor@love4lawson.org or bring them on a disc.

PRAYER PARTNERS NEEDED
Confirmation will begin on January 11. Please consider being a prayer partner for one of the confirmands and tell Pastor Homer of your commitment.

Eric Hoffman is excited about organizing the hand bell choir. Those interested are asked to come to a Bell Cleaning at 3 pm on Sunday, January 11th where we will discuss possibilities of practice times.

Join us as we cultivate friendships with Jesus and others at The Bloomery: Where Women blossom in faith and friendship.

That is this year’s theme for the Women’s Retreat. Together we’ll experience an enriching array of activities and devotions, and freshen out hearts with bouquets of fun!

We’ll begin with dinner on Friday evening, February 6^th at 6:00pm and will finish by 1:30 pm on Saturday, February 7^th. Our Bloomery Getaway will be held at Wilderness Retreat. The cost is only $60 ($25 at time of registration and $35 at the retreat). This includes three delicious meals, fun, music, refreshing activities, and comfortable lodging. Gift Certificates are available (Christmas gift idea?). Please plan on registering prior to January 15^th so food and materials can be planned. Registration forms are outside the church office.

—Please plan to have your pictures taken for our new pictorial directory. There is no charge to the church and every family unit that participates will receive a complimentary directory and 8 X 10 portrait from Olan Mills. We will have photography appointment registration before and after worship services beginning December 21^st so please come by to select a date and time at the Sign-Up Table or you may go online to www.signup.olanmills.com and enter the church phone number, no dashes, 8162967468 on the left hand side of the screen. Choose your appointment from the highlighted dates & times that are available. Please only sign up once, either at the table or online. Our directory will not be complete without you! OUR PHOTOGRAPHY DATES ARE: Friday, January 30 from 3-9:30 PM & Saturday, January 31 from 10 AM-5 PM You will be photographed and make your selections on the same appointment at the church so please allow a minimum of 45 minutes for the entire process .

The youth are going on a mission trip, June 21-27. We need adults to go with us. We are going to the UM Boy’s Ranch in Gore, Oklahoma. The cost is $125. This is a residential home for about 20 boys. They are also a horse ranch. We will do whatever projects they have for us like; construction, building and grounds work, painting, interior decorating, and landscaping. We also need adults to cook for us. It will be an experience you won’t forget! Let Liz know if you are interested.

YOUR help is needed! This is an opportunity to help people in your community who are facing a life-threatening illness. Liberty Hospital Hospice is in need of caring individuals to be part of our hospice team, as volunteers. Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles such as sitting with patients and families, and running errands. The time commitment is flexible, based on your availability. For more information, call Carmella Kovach, Volunteer Coordinator or Sandra Thibodeaux, Hospice Coordinator at 816-407-2200. Volunteer Orientation/Training is scheduled for:

Session 1 – Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 (9:00 am– 3:30 pm); Session 2 – Saturday, March 7, 2009 (9:00 am-3:30 pm); Session 3 – Saturday, March 14, 2009 (9:00 am—3:30 pm)

Lunch and snacks are provided. Attendance at all three sessions is required and will be held at Liberty Hospital Hospice, 1134 W. Kansas St., Liberty, MO. Please RSVP BY FEB. 20.
